We've been in business since July 1985, but the story actually goes back even further. It all started in 1957 when Richard D. Filip (our founder) took a job as a delivery and warehouse worker at Moellering Supply in Kokomo, Indiana. Over time, he worked his way up to being a salesman. After years of company buyouts and mergers, he decided to take a leap of faith and start his own business at 55 years old. That’s how RD Filip Inc. was born, eventually becoming a major distributor in the janitorial supply industry.

Richard passed away on September 15, 1999, and Rick, his son, took over, and his core belief still drives us today—take care of the customer, because they’re the heart of everything we do.
